Age of Wonders 4 Traits Guide
Body Trait
Bulwark: This trait gives a bonus of Defense +2 to all units recruited from the race, both in Defense Mode Defense and Defense Mode Resistance.
Fast Recuperation: Units recruited from the race with this trait get Hit points +5 Hit Points Regeneration per Strategic Turn, allowing them to heal faster.
Hearty: This trait provides a bonus of Hit points +10 Hit Points to all units recruited from the race, increasing their overall health.
Keen-Sighted: This trait increases the accuracy of all units recruited from the race by 20%.
Quick Reflexes: Units recruited from the race with this trait have their accuracy increased by 30% against enemy ranged attacks.
Resilient: This trait increases the Resistance of all units recruited from the race by 3, making them more resistant to status effects.
Resistant: Units recruited from the race with this trait have a bonus of Unit stats resistence.png +2 Resistance, making them more resistant to attacks.
Resolute: Units recruited from the race with this trait have a Negative Status Effect Duration reduced by 1 turn, though this does not affect Status Effects that last only 1 turn.
Strong: Units recruited from the race with this trait deal 10% more damage with melee and physical ranged attacks.
Tough: This trait gives a bonus of Defense +2 to all units recruited from the race.
Nightmare Mounts: Units recruited from the race with this trait have an additional Hit point +10 Hit Points when mounted, and gain the Intimidating Aura ability, which reduces enemy morale.
Spider Mounts: Units recruited from the race with this trait have an additional Hit point +10 Hit Points when mounted, and gain the Web ability, which can immobilize enemy units.
Unicorn Mounts: Units recruited from the race with this trait have additional Hit points +10 Hit Points when mounted, and gain the Phase ability, which allows them to move through obstacles.
Wolf Mounts: Units recruited from the race with this trait have an additional Hit point +10 Hit Points when mounted, and gain the Enfeebling Howl ability, which reduces enemy morale. They also gain the Pack Hunter passive ability, which increases their damage when attacking in a group.
Mind Traits
Here are the mind traits and their effects:
Adaptable: This trait gains 30% more experience points, allowing them to level up more quickly.
Arcane Focus: this trait deal 15% more damage with magic attacks.
Cold Blooded: This trait loses 50% less morale than usual.
Defensive Tactics: This trait gains +1 defence and +1 resistance
Elusive: This trait gain +6 defence and +6 resistance against retaliation and opportunity attacks.
Fast Initiative: This trait can move up to 6 hexes in the first combat turn.
Ferocious: This trait deal 40% more damage with retaliation and opportunity attacks.
Overwhelm Tactics: This trait gains a 20% higher critical hit chance
Sneaky: Units with this trait deal 25% more damage with flanking attacks.
Tenacious: Units with this trait take a 50% lower damage penalty from casualties.
Arctic Adaptation: Units with this trait can move two hexes further on snow and ice terrain, can build farms on snow terrain, and start in regions with snow terrain.
Desert Adaptation: Units with this trait can move two hexes further on sand terrain, can build farms on sand terrain, and start in regions with sand terrain.
Underground Adaptation: Units with this trait can move two hexes further on cavern floor, mushroom forest, fungus fields, and rocky terrain, can build farms on cavern floor terrain, start underground, and start with the Excavation empire skill.
Water Adaptation: Units with this trait can move two hexes further on swamp terrain, can build farms on swamp terrain, and start in regions with swamp terrain.
