Progression Guide

Lives and Life Force

In the bottom-left corner of your screen, you have text which says
”Life Force: (number)”. Life Force (LF) is a value which goes down when you train, get gripped or do certain actions.

When your LF goes under 0, you will instantly recover a small amount of it and lose a life. Your lives are displayed above your health (red circle). Once you reach 0 lives, you will be sent to the afterlife.

You can recover LF by pressing N when out of combat, making your character play an animation and slowly recovering LF.

When you die, you will lose 45% of your BP and 65% of your Zeni.

Gaining Battle Power

Battle Power (BP) is what determines your strength. Every race starts with different BP and every race has a different BP multiplier which allows them to gain faster or slower than other races.

Gaining BP can be done in multiple ways: fighting NPCs, bosses, your shadow or training with other players. If your opponent is stronger than you by a certain amount, you will get a BP multiplier (often referred to as leeching).

NPCs are the slowest way to gain BP in the early game, as they always are half of your BP and have no built-in way of giving more BP.

Bosses give more BP in the early game, as their BP is going to be much higher than yours, triggering the leeching bonus. However, once your BP is too high to trigger it, they are just as useless as NPCs BP gain-wise.

Your shadow (which you can summon by pressing K) is the best way of earning BP if you have no one to train with. It has 20% less BP than you. When you kill it, you have a chance of getting BP/Limit Break progress

Training with another player is the fastest way of earning BP. You can do this by having one of you typing /e TrainWith (other player’s username). This makes you gain much more BP than everything else, especially if the training is triggering the leech bonus.

Limit Breaks

Limit Breaks (LBs) are a feature in Xeno which will slow your progress down while they are active. Most things which should give you BP will give progress towards your LB instead, reducing the BP gains.

The first LB will begin at 12k BP. At first, you will not know. But once it reaches a certain %, it will appear and you will see a yellow progress bar. By doing actions which normally give BP, it will fill up. Once it fills fully, you character will play an animation and say it has broken its limits, giving you a small amount of BP. The next LB will appear when you reach double of your BP at that point.

Using weights greatly increases the speed at which your LB progresses.

Quests and Z-Quests

On nearly every planet, you can find quest boards. Interacting with it will make you queue up for a quest. Once you receive it, a red countdown will appear on your screen along with a red dotted square somewhere around you. Look around until you see it. When you’ve spotted it, fly towards it.

At the square location, there will be 5 NPCs. Killing all of them will give you around 1.2k Zeni.

Once you have enough Zeni for a Space Pod, go to Bulma’s shop and buy a Space Pod (if there isn’t one in the current shop rotation, wait a bit until there is). From that point on forward, you will sometimes receive Z-Quests when completing regular Quests. They will ask you to go to another planet and do a regular Quest there. When a Z-Quest is completed, it gives between 5k to 10k Zeni.

When you get 65k Zeni, it may be a good idea to go to Earth into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where you will be able to gain a lot of BP quickly.
