Hidden Deep is a 2D action and exploration sci-fi thriller set more than a mile beneath the ocean’s surface. A group of researchers discovered some unusual anomalies of unknown nature there and arranged a trip to investigate this strange occurrence.
Contact with the researchers abruptly ends after 681 days. You’ve arrived as the leader of the second squad, tasked with investigating what transpired. Hidden Deep is a retro game with a gloomy plot influenced by famous sci-fi games and films from the 1980s and 1990s (most notably Aliens, The Thing, and Half-Life (1)).
The complexity and quality of character animations, as well as general realism, were heavily emphasized (as for 2D games). The game has its own engine, which includes physics simulation and destructible terrain.

Troubleshooting and tips for new players

there will be spoilers to the missions! It would more interesting if you will achieve everything without other help! But if you’re tired of searching for something, then go ahead.
Hidden Deep Tips
- Press M to open the map and to see the current objective. There is also important notes show up at the bottom left, mostly the codes.
- You can use a gun while using grappling hook, but you can’t reload.
- Try to remember what objective you are on, because some of them are not showing up at the map.
- Search precisely. If you can’t find something, go where you still haven’t been.
Level 3 Day 90
The most usual thing here is looking for an emergency pump key. It’s under a bridge in flooded sector 6, in a dead-end. There are two ways to get out of flooded sector 6: straight and down. Descend. You’ll find another room, but nothing will be there. Continue down the path until you reach a key resting on the ground to your right. Then you should go back to using pumps.
Level 4. Day 91
Finding a key to the beams control room
First, go all the way to the top and turn right. You’ll notice a half-open door here. Crawl and you’ll find a crank (be careful, as cocoons are likely to spawn in). Did you get the crank? Good.
There is an elevator that is very close to a half-opened room (which you are currently in) Come up this way. Get a fuse by opening the door with a crank. Return to the first elevator.
Short instructions:
- You have a fuse -Descend
- Find another elevator near you and take it to this floor
- There is a fuse box on the left, insert a fuse here.
- Return to the top and move to the left. Nearby, you’ll find storage space and an elevator.
You can take ammo and medkits from the storage room if you like. Take the elevator to the top floor and exit to the left. There will be a small room with a steel cabinet and a button. Get the key by pressing the button.
Congrats! You’ve obtained the key. Return to the control room for the beams.
Most common problem: using a remote control cage
You must proceed to sector 8. There is, however, a pit and a metal cage. – Choose engineer and approach as near to the cage as you can – instructions will appear

FINDING AN ENTRANCE INTO SECTOR 8
So, you’ve discovered a corridor, but how do you get to the entrance? Terra scanner and explosion must be used twice. These locations are quite self-explanatory and don’t forget to utilize the terra scanner.
DELIVERING THE CUBES
You have a limited amount of time and must deliver cubes to a stabilizing pit in Sector 7, near the elevator, at the very beginning.
It’s dangerous stripes and a really deep pit, so you should’ve noticed it. And it’s not far from a large pot with a metal cage. 3 cubes must be loaded and dropped into the hole.
