Players assume the roles of Dana Roze and Kate Walker, the heroines of the previous Syberia games, in Syberia: The World Before.
This time, the game takes place in two different times and places: 1937 in Vaghen and 2004 in Taiga. Dana Roze wants to be a pianist, but Europe is on the verge of war, and fascists have taken power. Kate Walker, on the other hand, is trapped in a Taiga salt mine.
